Parvathy Omanakuttan, who won second place in the Miss World contest in 2008, has decided to make her debut in Kollywood. If sources are to be believed, she has been roped in as the heroine of a film titled Uma Maheswaran.

The film produced by True Soul is based on the classical dance form
Bharathanatyam. Nithin Ramakrishnan, who directed the Malayalam movie Apoorva at the age of 17, has written the story, screenplay and dialogues of Uma Maheswaran.

It is said Prakash Raj will play an important role in this film, which
will have music score by Santhosh and the cinematography by Madhu Ambat. Besides Parvathy, the cast includes Kalabhavan Mani and Vimala Raman, sources add.

Director ‘Jayam’ Raja has completed the shoot of his forthcoming film ‘Thillalangadi’, which has his younger brother ‘Jayam’ Ravi in the lead role. Produced by their father Editor Mohan, release rights of the movie have been reportedly acquired by Sun Pictures.

A remake of Telugu runaway hit ‘Kick’, the Tamil version has Ravi and Tamanna replacing Ravi Teja and Ileana respectively. The film has Vadivelu doing the role played by Brahmanandam in the original.

Shot in Malaysia and Hyderabad, final schedule of the shooting was recently completed in Chennai with Ravi, Tamanna and Shaam taking part, sources say. “Ravi and Raja are extremely happy about the final output,” they add.

The film which has music score by Yuvan Shankar Raja is currently on the editor’s table, we learn. Prabhu, Santhanam and a long list of prominent faces are there in this movie, which is expected to hit screen after June.
