Trisha Hurt over Drug Scandel Rumour

Trisha Krishnan, who made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar-starrer Khatta Meetha, is angry after her name was dragged in a drug scandal and thinks it’s an attempt to tarnish her image.
A report on a Telugu channel claimed that Trisha’s name featured in the list of clients of a Nigerian drug dealer. All because she has a very close friend of African origin -- dress designer Sidney Sladen.

But Trisha is not willing to take it lying down.

“It’s very strange. I was shooting in Kodaikanal when this Telugu news channel put this news out. And they put a still of me and this very dear friend of mine who’s Afro-American. They assumed that this fashion-designer friend of mine was some drug peddler from Nigera,” a fuming Trisha said from Chennai.

“I was angry. This is not just a harmless rumour. The first thing I did was to get my lawyer to issue statements to all the TV channels. I’ve taken legal action against the channel which put this out. There is not an element of truth in it. It’s strange where this story came from. I haven’t been to Hyderabad for a year now. I was told this peddler knows my number. But come on, everyone knows my number,” the pretty actress said.

Trisha thinks this an attempt to malign her name in the Telugu film industry.

“The only problem is you can’t pinpoint such a thing to any one source. But yes, it seems to have been done to tarnish my image. Luckily I’ve got a lot of support in Hyderabad even from the authorities,” she said.

Nayantara Prabhu to tie knot?

There have been rumours linking between popular South Indian actress Nayantara and choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva in the past, which the actress denied on several occasions! Going by the latest developments, it appears that these rumours were not unfounded true and the latest buzz in Chennai is that the couple may tie the knot in December.

“Nayan has given up her career as her priority is to marry Prabhu Deva. They are made for each other and are just waiting to legalise their relationship the moment Prabhu’s divorce from his wife comes through,” a source close to Nayantara was quoted as saying.

Reportedly Prabhu’s family has accepted Nayantara and she is the darling of the household. Recently, the couple is said to have exchanged garlands during a big homam performed by Prabhu’s dad Sundaram Master.

“Last Tuesday, they were spotted at a Vadapalani theatre holding hands and watching Karthi’s Naan Mahaan Alla,” a source added. Prabhu Deva also took her to Paris during the shoot of Jayam Ravi’s Ich, which he’s directing.

Nayantara is currently focusing on completing all her pending projects in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada such as Arya’s Boss Engira Baskaran, Electra in Malayalam and Symbol with Upendra in Kannada.

Trisha Replace Ileana in Pawan Kalyan’s Khushiga

Leading Telugu heroine Ileana, who was to play the main heroine in Pawan Kalyan’s next project Khushiga (Telugu remake of the Bollywood flick Love Aaj Kal) has been reportedly replaced by leading Tamil heroine Trisha.

According to sources, Ileana had earlier given bulk dates to her other project 3 Idiots, directed by Shankar, but the film was delayed for various reasons, causing an unexpected date clash with Khushiga.

However, it is said that the final decision on Ileana’s replacement has been not taken yet officially by the film’s makers. Apparently, hero Pawan Kalyan would take the final call after his return from Jerusalem next week.

The Kamal Haasan starrer Manmadhan Ambu was shot extensively in Europe and the team flew down to Chennai to complete the second schedule. The latest we hear is that the Manmadhan Ambu cast and crew will camp in Kodaikanal to can a few important scenes. The shooting is slated to begin very soon.

Trisha and Madhavan are in Kodaikanal already with the rest of team to join them. Sources in Kollywood report that the shooting of Manmadhan Ambu may be wrapped up soon.

Manmadhan Ambu, touted to be a comedy flick, is being directed by KS Ravikumar.

Rajinikanth’s much-awaited Endhiran (Robot) postponed

Rajinikanth’s much-awaited fantasy flick Endhiran (Robot), being directed by Shankar with Aishwarya Rai as the heroine, was expected to grace screens on September 3. But according to latest reports, the film has been postponed to September 24 because of last minute patchworks.

“Endhiran has 1500 graphical shots – a record in Indian cinema. If a movie has heavy graphics works like this, obviously it would be delayed,” a source commented. There are reports that the film will release in 2000 screens worldwide, the highest ever for a Tamil film. With a budget of Rs. 200 crores, Endhiran is also the costliest Tamil film ever made.

After the release of Endhiran, Rajinikanth may take a break and then commence the works of his daughter Soundarya’s animation film Sultan – The Warrior, which has been in the making for the last couple of years.

Tamanna in Thillalangadi Movie

Director ‘Jayam’ Raja has completed the shoot of his forthcoming film ‘Thillalangadi’, which has his younger brother ‘Jayam’ Ravi in the lead role. Produced by their father Editor Mohan, release rights of the movie have been reportedly acquired by Sun Pictures.

A remake of Telugu runaway hit ‘Kick’, the Tamil version has Ravi and Tamanna replacing Ravi Teja and Ileana respectively. The film has Vadivelu doing the role played by Brahmanandam in the original.

Shot in Malaysia and Hyderabad, final schedule of the shooting was recently completed in Chennai with Ravi, Tamanna and Shaam taking part, sources say. “Ravi and Raja are extremely happy about the final output,” they add.

The film which has music score by Yuvan Shankar Raja is currently on the editor’s table, we learn. Prabhu, Santhanam and a long list of prominent faces are there in this movie, which is expected to hit screen after June.

No Simbhu For Nayanthara

The director of Boss Engira Baskaran, Rajesh declared that Silambarasan is not doing a cameo in the film as reported by certain sections of the media. There were reports that the actor has been signed up for Boss Engira Baskaran and this has raised the expectation meter for the film. The rumor seems to have originated from the fact that Nayanthara is playing the lead role in the film.

Boss Engira Baskaran has Arya playing the title role. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for the film and Shakthi Saravanan has handled the camera.

The hot babe Namitha was the cynosure of all eyes in the audio launch of Nil Gavani Ennai Kathalai that held on Sunday at Four Frames theatre. The speakers at the event were praising and admiring Namitha.

Genelia to romance Dhanush onsecreen

Genelia will be playing Dhanush’s ladylove in the Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster titled ‘Ready‘.

The original directed by Sreenu Vaitla featured Ram and Genelia in the lead roles. To be produced by Mohan Apparao and Chandra Ramesh, the Tamil version will go on floors soon.

According to the producers, “there was a huge demand for the remake rights of the movie. Thank Almighty, we won the bid. The movie is a mix of action, romance and sentiments.”

Mithran Jawahar, who directed Dhanush for ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini‘ and the to-be released ‘Kutty‘, is wielding the megaphone for this one too. The movie is currently being remade in Kannada starring Puneeth Rajakumar and Priyamani in lead roles.
