It’s no secret that actress Shriya is a regular to a popular yoga centre in Coimbatore. In fact, we hear the actress is currently in Coimbatore and loving every minute of her stay there.

What’s more, she’s even been recommending the place to her good friend Trisha. Trisha, who just completed shooting for an ad film with Vikram, had tweeted saying that the yoga centre’s branch in Chennai is just as awesome.

She wrote, “Healthy food, great spa, good ambience. Must visit.”

Forthcoming venture ‘Chikku Bukku‘, starring Arya and Shriya Saran in lead roles, is a romantic entertainer shot on a train. The film is produced by Media One Global Entertainment Limited in association with Majestic Multimedia Limited.

Interestingly, Manikandan and Media One share a good rapport even before the commencement of this venture. For it was Manikandan who completed ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ after its director Jeeva’s sudden demise.

According to a press release, the duo has now aimed to reach even higher with ‘Chikku Bhukku’. The release says: “The film stars Arya, who did a stunning performance in ‘Naan Kadavul’. She seems to be getting quite a lot of good offers from numerous production houses in Bollywood. Despite being busy in the South, Shriya has landed herself in a plump role in Deepa Mehta’s new project. Reports indicate that the ace director would soon be making a film that has been inspired from Salman Rushdie’s novel ‘Midnight’s Children’. Deepa Mehta’s film will see the macho man of Bollywood Akshay Kumar essaying the protagonist’s character.

Kanthaswamy was almost complete except for a song. Recently, the crew was at Italy shooting a song sequence featuring Vikram and Shriya. This song sequence witnessed Shriya adorned with a costume worth a jaw dropping amount of Rs. 26 lakhs. Lo behold, this is not the end. She was wearing diamond jewelry costing a whopping Rs. 6 crores. It was reported that the hiring charge alone for the jewels was Rs. 5 lakhs per day. The crew was heard saying that they had canned the film in places in Italy which has not been visited hitherto by any film team. Kanthaswamy, directed by Susi Ganesan and produced by Thanu, is turning out to be a very expensive project indeed.

Can Shriya Saran make it big in Bollywood and fulfill her dreams? The answer will be known this Friday (March 27), when her long in the making Ek- The Power of One will be released. Shriya has done 35 odd films mainly in Telugu and Tamil and only four films in Hindi. But all her Hindi releases including the last Mission Istanbul were colossal flops. Now everything is riding on Ek- The Power of One, the remake of Mahesh Babu’s Telugu Athudu.

The film has Nana Patekar, Bobby Deol and Shriya in the lead and is directed by Sangeet Sivan, the younger brother of Santosh Sivan. It looks like a slick action film with some romance and music of Pritam. This is the Punjabi girl’s last and final chance in Bollywood. So let us hope the film clicks and she makes it big in her home state. Shriya need not be worried as she has the pick of films in Kollywood- Kanthasamy, Jaggubhai, Kutty, Thoranai, Chikku Bukku, and is all set to be the number one in 2009!
